The social protection research fraternity gathered online today (17 Dec 2020) to discuss key findings from flagship research by the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC) and our research associates from the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Universiti Malaya. Preliminary findings of Belanjawanku and the Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS), were shared by Puan Nik Noor Ainoon Nik Osman and Dr. Halimah Awang of SWRC respectively.
Other panellists of the webinar included Encik Muhammad Irfan Abdul Rahman who presented on the “Modelling Determinants of Pension Cost: New Evidence from Malaysia”; Dr. Nur Hairani Abd Rahman who shared pertinent issues on ageing through her research “Healthcare Utilisation among Elderly in Malaysia” and Dr. Diana Abdul Wahab who gave an interesting presentation on “Loneliness and Cognition in Older People”. Both Dr. Hairani and Dr. Diana’s research were based on the MARS data.
Emeritus Professor Datuk Norma Mansor, Director of SWRC moderated the webinar.
