Dr Zulkiply Omar is a Senior Fellow at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), Universiti Malaya. He holds a PhD in Economics from Southern Illinois University, USA, where he also obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics. In addition, he completed the Certificate in Leading Economic Growth programme at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University.

He served as Senior Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) from 2015 to 2019 and was Deputy Rector/Dean at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between 2012 and 2014.

Dr Zulkiply is currently the Managing Partner of Econsult Economic Consulting Sdn. Bhd., where he continues to provide economic research, policy analysis and strategic advisory services while contributing to SWRC's research initiatives.

Dr Haniza Khalid

Senior Research Associate

Dr Haniza Khalid is a development economist with extensive experience working on government initiatives in Malaysia and United Nations programmes. Her work has focused on sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), poverty measurement, social protection, economic and social impact assessment, and integrated financing for development.

Prior to joining the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), she served as Senior Development Economist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. She was also an Associate Professor at the Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

At SWRC, Dr Haniza contributes to multidisciplinary research that supports evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development.

Professor Dr Noor Azina Binti Ismail

Senior Research Associate

Professor Dr Noor Azina Ismail is an Honorary Professor in the Department of Decision Science, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya, and serves as a Senior Research Associate at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC).

She has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, encompassing teaching, research, postgraduate supervision and academic leadership. She previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Universiti Malaya.

Professor Noor Azina obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Statistics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and her PhD in Statistics from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Her expertise includes Bayesian analysis, survey methodology, multivariate modelling and social statistics applied to health, demographic and socio-economic research.

She has published extensively in leading international journals including Statistics in Medicine, PLOS ONE, Clinical Virology, Transportation Research Part A, Journal of Educational Research, and Social Indicators Research.
