Dr Haniza Khalid is a development economist with extensive experience working on government initiatives in Malaysia and United Nations programmes. Her work has focused on sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), poverty measurement, social protection, economic and social impact assessment, and integrated financing for development.
Prior to joining the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), she served as Senior Development Economist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. She was also an Associate Professor at the Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
At SWRC, Dr Haniza contributes to multidisciplinary research that supports evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development.
Dr Zulkiply Omar is a Senior Fellow at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), Universiti Malaya. He holds a PhD in Economics from Southern Illinois University, USA, where he also obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics. In addition, he completed the Certificate in Leading Economic Growth programme at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University.
He served as Senior Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) from 2015 to 2019 and was Deputy Rector/Dean at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between 2012 and 2014.
Dr Zulkiply is currently the Managing Partner of Econsult Economic Consulting Sdn. Bhd., where he continues to provide economic research, policy analysis and strategic advisory services while contributing to SWRC's research initiatives.
Dr Noor Azina Ismail is a Senior Fellow at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC).
She has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, encompassing teaching, research, postgraduate supervision and academic leadership. She previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Universiti Malaya.
Professor Noor Azina obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Statistics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and her PhD in Statistics from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Her expertise includes Bayesian analysis, survey methodology, multivariate modelling and social statistics applied to health, demographic and socio-economic research.
She has published extensively in leading international journals including Statistics in Medicine, PLOS ONE, Clinical Virology, Transportation Research Part A, Journal of Educational Research, and Social Indicators Research.
Dr Putri Rozita Tahir is a Senior Fellow at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), Universiti Malaya. An entrepreneurial economist and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional, she brings over three decades of experience across banking, financial services, consulting, entrepreneurship, corporate training and higher education.
She holds a PhD in Entrepreneurial Economics from Universiti Malaya, an MBA from Ohio University, USA, and a BBA in Finance from Western Michigan University, USA. Her research areas include entrepreneurship, SME development, financial planning and management.
As a CFP® professional, she develops and delivers financial literacy and personal financial planning programmes, helping individuals make informed decisions and strengthen financial security.
As the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Business at DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia and former Dean of the Centre for American Education at INTI International College Subang, she contributed to academic leadership, programme development and industry engagement.
At SWRC, her research interests encompass financial wellbeing, entrepreneurship, inclusive economic participation, ageing and sustainable livelihoods, drawing on her academic and industry experience to inform policy and practice.
