The Strategic Partnership Agreement Exchange Ceremony between Universiti Malaya and the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) was held on 18 August 2026 at the Za’ba Memorial Library, Universiti Malaya to mark the renewal of the strategic partnership between both institutions for the 2026–2030 period.
The ceremony highlighted the longstanding collaboration between Universiti Malaya, through the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), and PERKESO in advancing research, evidence-based policymaking, capacity building and initiatives related to social protection and wellbeing.
The event also featured a panel session entitled “Bridging the Social Protection Divide: Reforming Coverage for Gig and Informal Workers”, bringing together experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities in strengthening social protection coverage for workers in Malaysia’s evolving labour market.
