SWRC's Symposium was launched by Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim on 18 October 2023 at Putrajaya Convention Centre. The event recorded the participation of over 700 attendees from a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, including government ministries and agencies, academics, think tanks, business entities and other key players. All are actively engaged, either directly or indirectly in shaping policies and addressing matters crucial to the advancement and wellbeing of the nation.
This symposium aims to trigger initial discussions and input to improve the social protection framework and financing of social protection benefits through a more effective tax system. As such, renowned local and international social protection experts were invited to share the latest trends and the experiences of other countries in implementing a comprehensive and inclusive social protection system. Professor Datuk Norma Mansor in her closing speech expressed the hope that the conversation and the commitment to create the path toward greater prosperity for Malaysia will continue.
