The "sandwich generation," those caring for both aging parents and growing children, is facing increasing financial and emotional strain. In light of rising living costs and inadequate social security, experts Amjad Rabi and Norma Mansor from SWRC have put forth a potential solution: the Consumption-Based Contributory Pension (CBCP).

The CBCP proposes a novel approach to retirement savings. By linking a small consumption contribution to a flat-rate benefit for senior citizens, it aims to alleviate the burden on working adults while providing a more equitable safety net for the elderly.
