DR AMJAD RABI

Dr Amjad Rabi is a social security economist with experience across many countries at different stages of development. He is currently the Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) on Social Security for the ILO office in Iraq and an independent consultant, providing advisory services to national governments on reform of individual social security schemes as well as overall national systems. He is also conducting individualized learning to social security specialists across many countries. He served in senior positions in the United Nations’ country offices in Malaysia, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Egypt, and Argentina and the Headquarter offices in New York and Geneva.
Currently, he is a visiting expert at the University of Malaya’s Social Wellbeing Research Center, Malaysia. He has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at Balsillie School of International Affairs, Canada, and Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Canada, and Nottingham University, Malaysia campus. His academic background includes a Doctorate in International Relations (International Development), a Master’s degree in Public Policy (Social Policy Financing), a Master’s degree in Mathematics (Actuarial Science) and a Master’s degree in Economics.
