The “Living Your Golden Years: Reaching Out, Touching Lives” conference, held at the Tun Tan Cheng Lock College of Nursing School Auditorium, Assunta Hospital, was a one-day event designed to empower and inspire the elderly community and those involved in their care. With a dynamic programme featuring thought leaders, healthcare professionals and community advocates, the event aimed to promote purposeful living, health and wellness and the protection of elderly rights. A key highlight was the session by Professor Datuk Norma Mansor, Director of the Social Wellbeing Research Centre at Universiti Malaya, who spoke on protecting the rights and welfare of the elderly - a crucial issue in Malaysia’s ageing population. Through plenary talks, expert-led sessions and interactive exhibitions, the conference fostered awareness, encouraged compassionate support, and highlighted the importance of healthy ageing in society.
